REVIEW EPSON ECOTANK ET-M2140

Inkjet printers become hassle-free while dramatically cutting costs in plastic wastes. This model, introduced early this year, aims to target home offices and small businesses. Its MONO has entry-level laser MFPs ready to kick-off, while ET-M1120 (USB and WI-FI) and ET-M1100 are in the target mono laser printers for single-function.

RUNNING COSTS AND FEATURES (A REVIEW)

This model Epson EcoTank ET-M2140 is basic at its price, surprisingly. It can duplex-print with its 250-sheet paper input tray on both sides of a page. However, the document feeder is not automatic. That is why the multipage copies will be in trouble.

There is no port for walk-up prints at the front, no network or fax modem, only USB. You can see a composed color screen and membrane buttons ready to click on its basic control panel. You would have second-guessed at first on the menu functions, basically not so smart.

Sure, an adequate scanner capable of capturing an A4 page in just a matter of 11 seconds at 150dpi or 300dpi for a matter of 26 seconds. It reaches a 26-page text test during printing, and with 15.2 complex graphics in greyscale, it is more of an advantage than a cheap mono laser. You can see that its duplex speed of 7.5ipm is not outstanding, but regardless of its good features. Somehow, retrieving the printed images from the MFP’s is quite found to be tricky back-to-front of the output tray.

Unlike other black texts, Mono laser printers do not usually set a high-quality printing. This model produces better photos and graphics. Photocopies and scans are better for work at the office.

This is rated three stars for the review.

PROS

  • Running costs is low
  • Wastage is also low
  • With good printing speeds

CONS

  • Crucial features are lacking

OTHER FEATURE REVIEWS

Epson Eco tank ET-M2140 is genuinely competitive to other cheaper mono lasers, with quality and speed features. The huge premium might brand many over its true competitors, like HP’s LaserJet Pro M28w. Around 10,000 pages will still run out if you bought that particular MFP while spending the change from the toner’s price from Epson’s. You have to remember that ET-M2140 already has the capacity in the box for 11,000.

On the other hand, we can say that Et-M2140 is truly basic to be a professional printer. It needs an interface of the network, a document feeder to work automatically, and a fax modem also.

This model performs consistently without any paper jams or misprints. Its resolution of 1200 x 2400 is fairly high. The Epson’s PrecisionCore printhead produces very sharp pages. The produced texts are always well-contained, and even very small point sizes appear to be crisp. Upon viewing under a microscope, you can see that they’re slightly frayed at the edges compared to the directly printed letter with a laser. But overall, the Epson quality is very impressive in terms of quality.

It prints like a laser printer so quickly also. But it prints slower when in fine mode. It can reach 30ppm, and even though this speed has not been achieved yet, this model is considered fast enough to make a clock at 20ppm.

Although this is not a photo printer because it does not have a glossy photo paper setting, it can still deliver a grayscale image so detailed on heavy paper, with black shading that is so consistent.

CONCLUSION

The Epson Eco tank ET-M2140, I can say, is just hard to beat in terms of economy and speed. It has an adequate perfect quality for printing. It is also remarkably lower in cost per page. Its multifunction device could serve a user because of its decent scanner attached to it. However, it also limits its functionality, lacking WI-FI or even Ethernet.

But overall, it is a perfect finding for a choice to produce more quantity because of its speed feature—an edge among the others to serve you better than the better.
